Beginning Jan. 26, free tax help is available at McAlester Public Library every Monday until April 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. AARP volunteers will assist the public with filing state and federal forms. There is no charge for this service, provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. NOTE: The library will be closed March 16, so no assistance that day. Let''s Talk About It, Oklahoma is a reading and discussion program sponsored by the Oklahoma Humanities Council, with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Inasmuch Foundation. This spring at McAlester Public Library, the theme is Individual Rights and Community in America. Films, presentations by visiting professors and book discussions are held every Thursday from March 5 through April 23 from 6-8 p.m. If you are interested in literature, philosophy, politics and discussion, this is the program for you.
